His Honour Judge Devlin

His Honour Judge [Alistair] Devlin was born on 7th January 1960.

He was educated at Campbell College, Belfast, which he left in 1977. He then attended Queen’s University, Belfast from 1977 to 1981.

He was called to the Bar in 1982, where he specialised in the areas of Chancery, Commercial and Property Law, Employment Law and Personal Injury litigation.

In 1996, he was appointed a Chairman of the then VAT and Duties Tribunals in Northern Ireland, and subsequently became its Vice President. He was also appointed a Deputy County Court Judge in 1998, in 2009 a Judge of the First Tier Tribunal [Tax Chamber], and most recently a County Court Judge in 2011.

His areas of special interest include Chancery, Commercial and Property Law.
